Materiality of Sadness: Worn stories and representations of sadness through objects and images we hold dear 
is a project by Júlia Sadlonová “about personal experiences with sadness and how our wardrobe transforms when we go through difficult times. It also explores how some objects and places can hold melancholy and memories or are comforting and helping to process the emotions.”

The typography takes its inspiration from inscriptions of memory lockets and memento mori jewelry, combining romantic aesthetics with a contemporary take on lettering.
Using embroidery as a technique to draw parallels to handkerchiefs – a small square of silk or linen, often used in the past to wave good-bye to loved ones, to conceal tears or to hide ones face in it; as well as paying attention to the Materiality part of the title.
The logo itself exists in different variations, depending on the usage and to let the project feel alive and transformative.
