ARECIBO II
collaboration with fashion designer Júlia Sadlonová
Under the given topic ‘The Message’, Júlia and I created a concept about human communication with extraterrestrial life.
A written sentence is being decoded into a binary code and then transformed into black-and-white square shapes — just like Arecibo (the first message sent out into space). By deforming and connecting the newly created square shapes, a composition emerges, which is being transferred onto the fabric and the shapes of the clothing pieces used in the finished collection.
A collaboration between the Studio of Fashion & Footwear and the Studio of Graphic Design and Visual Communication of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (UMPRUM), Prague
